TOMORROW IS THE BIG DAY!
HAMMERHEADS!
TOMORROW IS THE BIG DAY AND WE COULDN'T BE MORE EXCITED! We've included last Monday's email below. Please read over to be fully prepared for tomorrow! Looking forward to seeing everyone soon!

An agenda and basic information below. We're happy to answer any and all questions - however, we ask that you read through the whole email before sending us a note. We have a lot of emails to shift through and most every question should be answered by our website (hammondhills.swimtopia.com) or the content in this email.

1. PRACTICE SCHEDULE
The practice schedule can be found on our website (hammondhills.swimtopia.com) under the "Practice Schedule" tab. Weather Policy: If there is thunder or lightening, we are required to get everyone out of the pool deck for 30 minutes. As soon as thunder or lightening happens, the timer starts over and we are required another 30 minutes. We typically always go to the pool and try to wait it out. We will ALWAYS send an email and post on the Facebook Page if practice is cancelled. If you see nothing about practice being cancelled, then practice is a GO! The only time we will cancel way ahead of schedule is if there is a severe weather warning.
Afternoon practices ONLY until after Memorial Day. After Memorial Day, we will start our morning schedule in addition to the afternoon schedule. Your swimmers do not have to attend both practices - however, the more they come, the more they will learn! You do not need to send an absence note for practices. YOU MUST SEND AN ABSENCE NOTE FOR SWIM MEETS! This note goes to [email protected] - thank you to those people who have already sent their swim meet absence notes.
2. MEET SCHEDULE
Meet schedule can be found on our website under "2018 Calendar" tab. This feature also includes location and addresses for each meet. Expect to get to home meets between 3:45-4PM and to away meets between 4-4:15PM. There is so much that goes into getting your swimmer(s) ready - it's important that they get there on time or early!
3. VOLUNTEERS
You should have received an email about volunteering at swim meets - if you have not, please send us an email back as soon as possible! It is required by every family.
4. FIRST PRACTICE
- WHAT TIME? Please check our website for your swimmer(s) practice times - just click the practice schedule tab.
- WHERE DO WE GO? Our address is 555 Glenforest Road. Chances are you will see a ton of cars! Park and enter through the front of the clubhouse. Once on the pool deck, you'll see our coaching staff, who will call the age groups. Find a comfy seat and hunker down until your swimmer(s) are called for practice. Send your swimmers over to us when they are called and then head back to your comfy seat.
We ask that parents stay away from the blocks and the edge of the pool throughout practice. We will call you over if we need you! Pictures and Videos are encouraged. When swimmers are dismissed, they will run.... I MEAN "WALK".... straight back to you. (For those of you who just giggled.... you're welcome)
- WHAT SHOULD WE EXPECT? Organized chaos. It will be a lot of introductions, name games, and little bit of swimming on the first day! We like to keep it light and fun and take our time. There will be plenty of swimming over the next 8 weeks so we make sure to start out slower - especially with our younger teammates.
Mary Dodd will be set up at a table with all the swim gear throughout the first week. You will pick it up from her once you get to the pool!
- WHAT SHOULD WE BRING? Towels, one piece bathing suit for girls/jammer for boys, GOGGLES, fins, and your swimmer(s) of course. Additional generally good ideas: bug spray, water, and snacks for after practice. Big recommendation - speedo Costco goggles. Your kids will lose a pair (unless they are perfect) so the three pack is the way to go!
5. SPONSORS: STILL LOOKING FOR MORE AWESOME SPONSORS! Any ideas - send them our way!
6. JUNIOR SHARKS
JUNIOR SHARKS IS OUR FEEDER TEAM made up of pool member kids who cannot swim alone in the deep end. Junior Sharks is not 6&UNDERS. 6&UNDERS is part of the swim team and is made up of kids who can swim alone in the deep end. You do not have to be a pool member to have a 6&Under. We are not as concerned about kids making the full lap - they can hold on the lane ropes a few times or pick up their head to breathe. If you have a Junior Shark, please reply to this email as soon as possible. :)
7. PICTURE DAY
PICTURE DAY WILL BE WEDNESDAY, MAY 23RD AT 4PM. EVERYONE WILL REPORT AT 4PM and there will be NO SWIM PRACTICE post-pictures. Family/Individual shots will begin at 4PM. Team Picture will be 5PM. One of our favorite days of the season!
