    It's officially swim season!

    Hey Hammerheads!

WHAT AN AWESOME FIRST DAY! It felt so good to be back between the fences with our Hammerheads. A couple of quick notes below! Looking forward to seeing you all again tomorrow!

    1. SWIM GEAR

    2. WEATHER POLICY

    3. 6&UNDERS // JUNIOR SHARKS

    4. DON'T FORGET YOUR FINS AND GOGGLES!

    5. ABSENCES (PRACTICES AND SWIM MEETS)

    6. THE PLAYGROUND

    7. POOL MEMBERSHIPS

    1. SWIM GEAR

Bathing suits can be found on the swim gear tab of our website.

Swim caps have ordered and will be available for purchase at swim meets for $5 (cash only!)

T-Shirt deadline was April 30th - if you registered after April 30th, we unfortunately do not have a shirt for you. This policy allows for us to have team shirts ready at the beginning of the season!

Fins can be ordered on swimoutlet.com - be sure to check the sizing chart before ordering. Fins are MANDATORY for practices! The only time swimmers will not need their fins is during time trials and swim meets (dates located on the website's calendar).

    2. WEATHER POLICY

Brace yourself folks...... looks like we might have some rough weather later in the week. We will always try to have practice and will even practice in the rain as long as it is not thundering and/or lightening. There is 30 minute wait period after any lightening or clap of thunder. Our first priority will always be to keep your kids SAFE. Please remember this as we may experience weather delays during the season.

The best way to stay updated is EMAIL and our FACEBOOK GROUP. If practice is cancelled for any given age group, we will email you AND post it. If you do not receive an email or see a post by the coaches, practice is on! We almost never cancel practice for every age group unless the report calls for severe storms. We will wait it out in the clubhouse if we can!

    3. 6&UNDERS // JUNIOR SHARKS

If your 6&Under is not able to successfully swim across the deep end alone by the end of the week, please expect an email from us. 6&Unders is meant for those swimmers with deep end experience while our Junior Sharks feeder team is for swimmers who are learning how to swim in the deep end. We created the feeder team to make sure we have similar ability level groups! It's also our priority to keep our swimmers safe - therefore, we don't want any swimmer in the deep end who isn't comfortable being there.

    4. DON'T FORGET YOUR FINS AND GOGGLES!

Fins are mandatory - although, we will be laid back this week as shipments are still coming in. We will use them at nearly every practice so it's important they do not forget them! Goggles are essential and will help your swimmer tremendously. We do not speak for all coaches, but we compare swimming without googles to racing a bike without glasses. If you can't see where you're going, chances are you won't have a very good race!

We often hear that young swimmers say goggles are uncomfortable - make sure to buy the thicker nose piece goggles if you can. The thin plastic nose pieces can feel pretty awful if they are not fitted perfectly. Also, some "loving" tough love - no better time than the present to learn to use them. They will be thankful in the long run!

    5. ABSENCES (PRACTICES AND SWIM MEETS)

Just a reminder that we do not need to know if your child will be absent from practice. We appreciate the notes, but do not stress! It's no biggie. They will have plenty of practices later in the season! However, we always try to emphasize - the more they come, the more they will improve their swimming abilities!

We DO need to know if they will be missing ANY swim meets. Please send all swim meet absences to [email protected]. Junior Sharks do not swim in swim meets! :)

    6. THE PLAYGROUND

A warning about the playground! Please note that it is very dangerous to play on the playset while wet or without shoes. It is a play at your own risk situation so we really encourage parents to make sure kids know the importance of being safe while using it. It will always be closed during swim meets.

    7. POOL MEMBERSHIPS

Pool memberships still available! It's the best way to get the full experience our amazing community has to offer. We're happy to talk through all the details with you.

Last, but not least, we can't wait to see everyone again tomorrow! See you soon!
