Adult Swim Team Registration is OPEN!
Hey all!
I just got the email from Atlanta Swimming that adult league registration is open! Unfortunately, there is no way to also pay your the pool fee through the website so this will be a two step process.
Step #1: Head to our adult league website page and register through the league. The league fee will be $25.00 for 19-24 year olds and $45.00 for swimmers 25 years and older. Here is the link to sign up: https://hammondhills-asl.swimtopia.com/
Step #2: To pay the pool fee, you can bring cash or a check to the first practice at the beginning of June. $10 for pool members, $55 for non-pool members. Checks should be made out to Hammond Hills Swim Association.
Details about this adult team below:
Practice: Monday and Wednesday nights from 7:30-8:30PM. A couple of exceptions will apply due to swim meets in May/June. Practice will be rescheduled for different days and swimmers will be notified ahead of time. Practice is NOT mandatory and it is not expected to attend every practice. You don't need to notify anyone if you're going to miss - you only need to tell us if you are or are not going to participate in a swim meet. Swim meets are also not mandatory. Should sound familiar to our own summer league swim!
The big difference - there is no coach. These are drop in practices like any recreational sport. I will send out the workout, but it's really up to you how hard you swim/how much you swim/what you swim during practice. I know there will be some practices that I will definitely miss so don't stress if you can't make them all. I imagine there will also be plenty of socializing - however, this is our first try on this so who knows!
Practices will run from the first week in June through the first week in August with a week off throughout the Fourth of July.
Meets:
The meet schedule is below. Meets are not mandatory - we just need to know ahead of time if you want to swim in them. I guarantee you I will not be at all of them! Meets might require a little bit volunteering if you swim, but nothing like a typical swim team. They've told us that is mostly some racing, a margarita machine, and a lot of laughs. A good time to socialize and hang out with other adults who love swimming! If you are looking for more of a "masters" style meet, I do not recommend this league for you. It is much more laid back! :)
Friday June 7 at 7:00pm at Martin's Landing - Sprint Meet
Friday June 14 at 7:00pm at Winding Vista - Standard Meet
Friday July 12 at 7:00pm at Garden Hills Pool - Distance Meet
Friday July 26 at 7:00pm at Roswell Rec - Olympic Meet
Saturday August 10 Championship at 10:00am at Chastain Park (Tentative)
If you didn't reach out to me the first time, but have decided you want to sign up - feel free to still sign up!
Sincerely,
Laney Piefke
