1. What to bring to practice
Always bring sunscreen, water, towel, goggles, flippers. Girls should wear a one piece bathing suit and boys should wear jammer suits. If you wear a two piece suit or swim trunks, it makes it really hard for swimmers' to improve their technique. Swim caps also encouraged! They just make swimming easier (less drag in the water).
2. What to expect at the first practice
A lot of introductions, expectations, and rules for the season! Some swimming, but not a ton. We like to set the tone for the season by making sure all the swimmers know the rules of the pool and our expectations as a coaching staff. But mostly, expect organized chaos- it is like this every year and always takes a little bit of time for swimmers to find the routine. Our goal is to keep things consistent and clear so that swimmers know what to do, where to go, and what to expect - this takes some practice and we look forward to it!
3. What to expect for T, W, TH, F practices
Repeated introductions becoming shorter each day; increased swimming each day.
4. Afternoon practice on Friday, May 17th
This is the only Friday afternoon practice we will have all season! We hold this one (and only one) Friday afternoon practice because we don't have morning practices yet. There will be no Friday morning practices for the rest of the season after May 17th.
5. Junior Sharks - First week of Practice
Junior Sharks (our feeder team) will practice from 4:30-5PM Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. This program is NOT the same as 6&Unders. 6&Unders is part of swim team/meets and junior sharks is a program for MEMBERS ONLY that helps swimmers get ready for swimming in the deep end.
6. No practice Friday, May 24th or Monday, May 27th
No friday afternoon practice on May 24th or on Monday, May 27th (Memorial Day). We will hold practice on the last day of public school - Thursday, May 23rd.

8. Swim Lessons from Coaching Staff
We have already had a lot of people ask about swim lessons for the season! We are very excited. Starting after Memorial Day, Coach Laney, Coach Ian, Coach James, Coach Kateleigh, and Coach Alyssa will be available for private and/or group lessons this summer. I encourage you to contact us directly at our emails below. Availability is limited and some of our schedules are filling up for the beginning of the season. I highly recommend reaching out sooner rather later! If one of our schedules is not available for you, we will be happy to recommend you to another coach who we believe would be a great fit for your child.
**Note from Coach Laney about her swim lessons:If you have already contacted me about swim lessons and I told you to hold off for a bit - now is the time to email again! If you could make the subject line of the email "swim lesson" I would greatly appreciate it. I get a lot of emails so a clear subject line helps me a lot! :)
