Volunteer Descriptions
Home Meets:
Announcer: The Announcer will be responsible for making announcements over the microphone throughout the meet. This position will last the full meet.
Bullpen Parents: As a Bullpen parent, you will be responsible for getting your assigned age group to and from their events as well putting them in the correct lanes and order. This position will last for the whole swim meet and will count as 2 jobs.
Concession Workers: Concession Workers are responsible for helping run the concession stand. This position lasts for half of the meet.
Grillers: Grillers are responsible for cooking hamburgers/hot dogs and need to be at Hammond Hills by 4:45pm. This position lasts for half of the meet.
Judges Recorder: A Judges Recorder is responsible for recording the results (order of finish) of the judges on the judges placing form and then giving the form to the master recorder. This position lasts for half of the meet.
Judge: A Judge is responsible for recording the places of the swimmer’s in each heat. This position lasts half of the meet.
Runner: Runners collect the judges placing forms from the master recorders and delivers them to the scoring table. This position lasts for half of the meet.
Clean-Up Crew: Clean-Up Crew is responsible for cleaning up the pool area mid-meet and after the meet is over. Clean-Up Crew may not leave until all trash has been collected and put in dumpster.
Timers: Timers are responsible for recording the time of the swimmer in their assigned lane for each heat of each event. This position lasts for half of the meet.
Master Recorder: Master Recorder collects the judges placing forms from the judges recorder and then goes to each lane to record each swimmers time. They then deliver the sheets to the runner or the scoring table. This position lasts for half of the meet.
Ribbon Writer: Ribbon Writers are responsible for appropriately labeling ribbons and filing them into the correct file. Ribbon Writers will begin at the end of race # 34. This is a change from last year. We will only have 2 ribbon writers for the entire meet.
Restroom Monitor: Restroom Monitors are responsible for monitoring the restroom every 10 events. Monitors will check to make sure there is enough soap, paper towels, and toilet paper stocked and restock if necessary. This position will also monitor for any messes made in bathroom and clean up as necessary. We also ask that you help with trash cleanup around pool deck during your shift. This position lasts for half of the meet.
Away Meets:
