Early April Update
Hi Hammerheads! Happy April and to many families, a happy Spring Break week! As we approach the one month out mark I have a few updates:
1. I am pleased to announce we have two new junior coaches: Julia Kittrell and Easton Schulman! We also have a new Meet Maestro manager Leah Weis! Leah will help us make meets happen by running the software we use for ribbons, points, and times at meets.
A note from Julia: Hey! My name is Julia Kittrell, and I’m in 8th grade at Ridgeview Charter Middle School. I’ve been swimming at Hammond Hills for 9 years, and I’m so excited to see all of our swimmers and enjoy another great season!
A note from Easton: Hi!! My name is Easton Rose Schulman, and I am in 8th grade at Ridgeview. I have been swimming with the hammerheads for 8 years!! I am excited to meet everyone and enjoy another fun season together!

3. Mark your calendars for May 19th picture day! Our mandatory team picture is not a team picture without your kids! Individuals will take place at 4:30pm, and the team picture will be around 5:15. There will be no practice after picture day.
4. With the season fast approaching in order to help set your child up for success, I have a few recomendations for taking the shock out of the beginning of the season. One option is taking your child to swim some laps at an indoor pool before the season starts. Another option is signing up for an Aqua Tots Swim School refresher course, they have some great pre-summer league tune-up options. Finally, there are many local indoor swim teams such as Lifetime, Chastain Park Aquatic Center, Dynamo, the Y or Swim Atlanta that provide different levels to fit your child's swim ability. Most teams do monthly memberships so consider signing your kid up for one month to help them get in the groove of swim before we start back up.
