    MEET TONIGHT!

    HEY HAMMERHEADS!

Looks like our email didn't go through last night so we are resending it now!

AWAY MEET @ MARK TRAIL POOL TOMORROW!!!!

Where: Mark Trail Pool (210 Seville Chase NW, Atlanta, GA 30328)
    Arrival Time: 4:15-4:30PM
    Warm-Ups: 5:00PM
    Meet Start Time: 5:30PM
After Swim Meet Dinner: Pizza Crosta!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Pro-Tips (for Mark Trail Pool):
    - Bring bug spray(It will most likely be our buggiest meet yet)
    - Concession stand is cash only
    - Bring folding chairs if you can; there are not a lot of chairs or tables available
    - Be on time if at all possible; parking is one side of the road and parking lot is very small
    - Leave early if possible! Making your way down Roswell Road/Johnson Ferry at 4PM can be very difficult!

    Pro-Tips (for any meet):
    - Pack 2 Towels, Team Suit, Games, Goggles, Swim Cap, HAIR TIES, and cash for the concession stand
    - Let your swimmer(s) have a restful pre-meet day (read, watch movies, nap, and eat healthy snacks)
    - Drop off your swimmer in their bullpen and have them hangout there while they are not swimming! (Great bonding time with their teammates, not to mention it's super important we are able to find them)
    - Ask your swimmers about charging the wall, waiting for the whistle, not looking to the side, relays, examples of great sportsmanship, and the keys to diving/jumping far out (hopefully they will have lots to tell you)
    - Remind you're kiddos this is all about having fun! It may be a competition, but our goal is for them to have a great experience!

    ****WEATHER POLICY FOR MEETS:
    - Same as practice; will update you on any weather delays via Facebook Page (fastest form of communication) and email. Please assume that there are NO DELAYS unless communicated by a coaching staff member or our parent rep (Mary Dodd Walker)
    - We will sit out thunder at meets if at all possible! Rescheduling meets is the biggest pain so we will do everything we can to make them happen (keeping in mind that safety is incredibly important)
**We know the weather forecast doesn't look awesome, but you just never know! So unless we formally send out an email saying it is cancelled, PLEASE be on time and ready to go by 4:30PM!

GAME DAY @ 10 AM (for all age groups) ON WEDNESDAY MORNING! No regular practice with game day. Game Day ends at 11AM. We will announce the swimmers of the meet and (yes) there will be donuts!

STILL IN NEED OF VOLUNTEERS - Hoping some kind souls will set up for us!

Lastly, we're sure a lot of you are wondering what is going on at the pool and why it's been closed the past few days. Between the rainstorms and pool chemicals, there is has been a signifgant build up of algae in the pool. Our pool company came to the club yesterday and added a chemical to dissolve the algae. However, with even more thunderstorms yesterday, the chemical was not able to quite clear up everything. Our first priority will always be you and your children's safety. Obviously, swimming in algae is not ideal. However, the second big factor is water clarity. It is important that we are able to clearly see the bottom of the pool and (recently) the water has been very cloudy. Our pool company has been down at the club most of the day scrubbing away so we're hoping to be ready to go by tomorrow morning's game day. We appreciate your patience as we work through these issues!

One more note: One thing that can contribute to algae is unwashed bathing suits. Please make sure to wash your kids bathing suits before they swim in the pool - ESPECIALLY after going to the lake or beach. The stuff picked up in suits from other water sources has been proven to affect both chemical and algae levels. So please wash those suits! :)

    See everyone at 4:15 tonight!

    Thanks,

    Your 2017 HH Swim Coaches
